Haiti up-date, January 2011, ( one year from the devastating earthquake on January 12th 2010)

I don't think that anyone would disagree that 2010 was not a great year for the small, poor country of Haiti. Already being one of the poorest countries in the entire world, on January 12th at proximately 2:30pm, it was rocked by one of the worst natural disasters in modern times, the earthquake killed as many as 230,000 innocent and unsuspecting men, women, and children, and leaving many, many more hurting, homeless, widowed, and orphaned. Even now, a full year later there is very little evidence of any sort of recovery or rebuilding. Later this same year a series of hurricanes created more flooding, more hurting, and send more of the countries precious topsoil out into the sea. Then, in this same year, a national epidemic cholera outbreak struck down over 20,000 people, breaking up even more families. The source of the disease supposedly came from the United Nations Peace Keepers, who are supposed to be there only to help keep a "peaceful oversight," not bring more diseases and more trouble. Then in November, a long awaited, past due election, (if that is what you can call it), comes forth with very suspect results. Not letting the just and the innocent and concerned citizens of Haiti speak through their legal right to vote, and ending in typical corruption and violence once again.
Yes, many if not most around the world would say that Haiti just can't seam to rise above the problems that seem to continually keep them down. Many even wonder if there is anything or any reason to keep trying to help Haiti. Is there even any natural resources worth investing in there?

I SAY YES, THERE IS, The PEOPLE, of Haiti. Yes, the hurting, oppressed, orphaned, unemployed, widowed, diseased, lost, broken, and confused people of Haiti. That is who Jesus came for, and that is who he is sending us out for, yes us.

I strongly believe that this past year has been a time of preparation by God, for the people of Haiti to be much more receptive to the gospel of salvation in the name of Jesus Christ. And I have spoken to many other small ministries such as ours, and they not only agree, but are seeing the evidence. Hundreds and thousands have been coming to a saving grace in our Lord in recent months. I am greatly saddened by the events of 2010, but not despaired. I trust in my Lord, and I have faith that He will do exceedingly and abundantly more than I could ever hope for. And I am hoping for a miracle, thats for sure.............

I have a fresh and vibrant faith for Haiti in 2011, and I would pray that all of you would support me in this. I see a great natural resource in the people of Haiti and so does God. Please pray with me on this anniversary of the devastating earthquake. Please pray for the lost and hurting in Haiti. Please pray for the widows and the orphans in Haiti. Please pray for the church in Haiti. Please pray for the small ministries like ours in Haiti. Please pray for the POWER and AUTHORITY of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords in Haiti. It is a big job, that with man alone would be impossible, but with God all things are possible, and so is Haiti.
Thank you for your continual prayers and support of this ministry. Together we are making a real difference to the people of Haiti....................................Mike
