Hello,
Tonight  is our last night in the US. We are sitting in the airport as I write this. We would appreciate your prayers as we travel and adjust. All of my children and their families spent the day with me. One of my sisters and her girls also came up to see us off. Saying goodbye tonight was one of the hardest things I have ever done. It felt like my heart was being ripped. I have peace from God, but it is still hard to say goodbye. I have 6 older married children and their spouses and 7 grandchildren I am leaving behind.  I was blessed with being able to be present at the birth of my 7th grandchild before leaving. She was born Thursday morning. Some of you have been praying for her because of her breathing problems during pregnancy. Thank you for your prayers, the birth went well and was very peaceful.

My daughter Becca, grandson Felice, son Dustin and daughter in law Melissa are flying to Haiti with me to help us move. I will try and post a photo of our group on the blog later, after my son in law emails it to me :)    Thank you so much for your prayers.

Blessings,
Chris

Hello,
I wanted to update you a bit on what has been going on in Haiti. The second half of the roof has finally been poured over the rooms we will be living in. We will be in the last part of the children's village to be completed. We were hoping that the roof would already be finished when the team arrived in January. But I guess we also need to learn to be patient. In Haiti relationship is way more important than the task, which is something we have out of balance in the US and Canada. It will be one of those stretching and growing things we find as we live in Haiti. Greg and Mike have been waiting for our containers to arrive to the children's village. One of the containers arrived in Haiti just before Christmas. In Haiti they take the American holidays and the Haitian holidays. So between Christmas, New Years and Carnival week, our containers have been sitting and waiting. One of the containers is full of food and the other container is mixed supplies for the children's village, schools and churches. This last container also has some building supplies needed to finish the rooms we will be staying in. So we would appreciate your prayers in getting it off the docks and up to the children's village. Please also pray for the food container to be released. We have been told the containers might be available Friday or Saturday.
Greg and Mike built removable goal posts for the soccer field next to the children's village. They have also been working on the playground. They are adding a fireman's pole and a rope climb. They have also been doing maintenance around the children's village.
God is still moving powerfully in Pass Rein. One night this past week when Greg, Mike and Laura went up for an all night celebration service, they had 6 salvation's and 6 women who were practising voodoo, denounce it and choose God. Also women came forward for healing who had been molested and abused and three came forward to be set free from demons. They were there until 5:30 the next morning. Praise God for healing and setting these women free. God is so Good !!!!!!
Today a group called teen challenge will be coming to stay a couple of days at the children's village. There will be a youth group meeting tonight and youth will be coming from all the surrounding communities. The teen challenge group will be sharing their testimonies and worshiping with the Haitian youth. Please pray that God moves among the youth from both cultures.
Please continue to pray for our family as we prepare to move the children and I to Haiti. I am still trying to finish up probate and my father's estate, plus finish up packing and all the details involved with an international move. I truly cherish your prayers for strength, endurance, wisdom and discernment. Also for help in putting people ahead of the task. Thank you so very much.
Blessings,
Chris

Hello,
The team had a good day today. Thank you so much for your prayers. They went to church in Marose. A lot of people came forward to be filled with the Holy Spirit during church. Two friends from another ministry came to church also. Nathan preached up in Pass Rien, where there were 5 more salvation's between the morning and evening service. That makes about 20 new believers in Pass Rien this week alone. Nathan also held a meeting for the older youth in the village to see how many would be interested in forming a youth group. 35 youth showed up. So we will try and start a youth group in Pass Rien.
In the afternoon the team spent time praying over some of the children individually. After that Jay did a Goliath skit, which the children loved. The team also said their goodbye's to the staff and children. They will leave for Port-au-Prince around 5:30 tomorrow morning.
Betsy, one of our nurses, who is also one of Nathan's sisters is engaged. She will be married in March. Everyone is very excited for her. Her husband just graduated as an accountant. They will live in Marose and she will still be one of the nurses in our clinic.
Please pray for the team as they travel home, for safety and for on time connections.
Thanks and Blessings,
Chris

swing set in the new playground

Hello again,

Thank you for your prayers today. In the morning the team and children spent some time outside the children's village picking up garbage. The team also went into the market and helped Nadine (Nathan's sister) purchase some more kitchen items. It took a good portion of the day. They also stopped and visited another ministry near us that we are friends with.

While at the market the team found peanuts so, when they got back to the village, they made peanut brittle candy for the children and staff. They also put together some gift bags for the staff, which surprised and blessed the staff. In the evening Jay did the devotions with the children and had them acting out the characters in the story. The children really enjoyed it.

Tomorrow the team will go to church in Marose. Then in the afternoon they will spend some time praying over some of the children. The children come from such hard places, we like to spend some time praying over the ones that seem to be struggling the most. Please pray for discernment and healing for the children. Tomorrow will also be the last full day for part of the team. Brenda, Jay, Kathy and Mac will be heading for Port-au-Prince Monday morning. Laura will be moving into the older girls room as a nanny. She will be spending about 2 months in Haiti. She will go home with the March team. Greg will also be staying longer. He will be stay about 1 month in Haiti. He is staying on to help Mike finish the part of the children's village that we will be staying in. And of course Mike will not be coming back with the team, he will be in Haiti waiting for our younger children and I to join him later this month.

Blessings,
Chris

Hello,
The team had a great day today. In the morning the team visited Perou. They spent time with the children passing out pillow cases dresses and candy. They also spent time with the teachers and pastor Reynolds and the youth pastor, Benchy. They had a great prayer time with the staff and children and they passed out new Bibles to all of the youth group. Our youth group in Perou is a sister youth group to one of our partner Churches in Oklahoma. The youth group in Oklahoma raised funds for the youth group in Perou to each receive a bible. A very precious gift. The team said they really enjoyed the time spent in Perou. They tried texting photos of the bibles and youth group, but they did not come through, so I will ask them to email them to me tomorrow so I can share them with you.

The team also got quite a bit of the playground built, they tried texting photos of the playground also. So again, I will share them as soon as I can.

Last night there was another church service in Pass Rien and there were 7 more salvation's. Praise God ! Thank you for continuing to pray for Pass Rien.

Tomorrow the girls are going into town with Nadine, Nathan's sister, to buy some more kitchen supplies. It should be a fun experience. I believe the rest of the team will be trying to finish up the playground. Please continue to pray for the team as they build relationships with the children and staff and be the hands and feet of Jesus.

Blessings,
Chris

Hello,
Today the team mostly stayed in the children's village. Kathy and Brenda worked in the kitchen with the cooks again. The guys worked more on building the playground. Mike, Jay and Brenda each shared with the staff some of the different aspects of our child safety program. They also taught the children some more about respect and appreciation. One of the highlights of the trip is being able to share a new food with the children and staff, something we eat in America or Canada.
For this trip Kathy made gingerbread boy cookies and bears at home. Then they decorated the cookies in the Haiti. They went over well.
Since the team did not go to Perou today, they will be going tomorrow morning. Mike, Jay and Brenda will also be teaching the staff again tomorrow. Please be praying for understanding. Thank you again for your prayers, they are appreciated.
Blessings,
Chris

Hello,
The team had a great day today. They went into town for a couple of hours. They purchased the steel needed for the swing set. They also visited the school in Poteau and spent time playing with the children. They passed out candy and the children sang for the team. Later, Kathy and Brenda spent time in the kitchen helping the cooks. They had a lot of fun and all of them learned some new things. The team picked up the bibles today. I have been told that I will get photos tomorrow, if I do I will post them.

Later in the day Nathan, Mike, Jay and our translator went back up to Pass Rien for another evening celebration. The evening was interesting to say the least. The celebration was held in one of the families home, so picture about 200 people gathered together in the yard of a mud hut. Nathan brought a portable sound system and lights with him. Nathan led worship and Mike taught. A man heard the worship and thought is was a party or a disco as they call it. When he asked what was going on Nathan called him and asked what he wanted. He ended up giving his life to the Lord. There were 6 salvation's tonight and lots of people came forward for prayer.

One man shared his testimony, he said he was part of a witchcraft group and he had thought it was like family for him. He said his eyes were opened and he gave his heart to the Lord and now he realizes he has a new family, a family in the light.

One of the men who gave his life to the Lord was involved in what they call death bands. Death bands start an evening with music that becomes very provocative and play music through the night, but by morning someone is killed. This man turned from this and gave his life to the Lord.

While Mike was teaching, Nathan thought he saw something out of the corner of his eye. So he went over by the woods and looked around. There were 4 witch doctors hiding in the woods. They obviously were trying to stop what God was doing. Mike and Nathan were told that a couple of weeks ago, two men showed up in church that were strangers to the village, they came to check Nathan and a friend named Shalam out. Some in the village did not think they were very good men. It turned out that they were hired by the Madam, the witch doctor that some of you have been praying for. She hired them as hit men to take Nathan and Shalam out. After church that Sunday the two men went up to Cap Haitian, but evidently some deal they were part of in the Dominican Republic went bad and they went back to the Domican Republic, and were killed.

I share these stories not to scare anyone, but to share with you just how much prayer is needed. It is so important to keep praying. The area of Pass Rien has a higher population of witch doctors then a lot of other places. The village of Pass Rien has been under the Madams thumb, and under Satan's for generations. Prayer has broken through, and even witch doctors are coming to salvation. In Luke 4:8 God says: The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed, In the village of Pass Rien captives have been set free, the blind from birth have seen and the oppressed have been set free. God's word says when the light comes darkness has to flee. Nathan and Mike have been teaching how important it is to separate voodoo and the church. And not to go back to the darkness, but to stay in the light. Please keep praying for the village of Pass Rien, for discernment and protection, also that God's light would burn brightly.

Tomorrow the team will go to the village of Perou and spend time giving the gift of bibles. Please pray for them and the people of Perou.

Thank you so very much for your prayers. We greatly appreciate them.
Blessings,
Chris

Hello,
Today the team worked on laying out the area for the playground in the children's village. They also dug the holes for the steel posts, which is quite a job. Our friend Neil, who works for Washington state agriculture, and who has come to Haiti twice to do soil testing, remarked "what soil" when he first saw it. In Marose the soil is more like rock with smaller ground up rock. It is so hard and packed it is almost like digging concrete. So digging the post holes was quite an accomplishment.

The team also spent time with the children today and passed out the children's gifts to them. Then in the evening the team passed out glow-sticks. The children love the glow-sticks, usually a wild game of chase and capture breaks out once the glo-sticks are given out. The team usually gets quite involved in the game.

Tomorrow the team will go into town and get the steel posts for the playground. They will also get to spend some time in the market. The team will be hiking up the mountain tomorrow for their devotion time. And one of the exciting parts for tomorrow will be the delivery of the bibles for the new believers in Pass Rien and for the youth group in Perou among others. These are the bibles that you purchased for Christmas. They are written in their language and are nice durable hard cover bibles.

Thank you again for partnering with us in prayer.
Blessings,
Chris

Hello,
The team arrived at the children's village last night and settled in. Nathan said that the village of Pass Rein was expecting the team for Church in the morning. So they traveled up to Pass Rein this morning, Nathan lead worship and Mike preached. Mike said church was amazing. There were about 250 people from the village that went to church. They did not all fit in the tent they use for church, which is one of those long military style tents. They opened both ends of the tent, there were people in the tent and outside of the tent and all around the tent. There were 9 salvation's and about 150 people came forward to be baptised in the Holy Spirit. They had a meeting afterwards with the leaders to encourage them to disciple and mentor the people. The team said it was so cool being in church this morning, the church was exploding with the Spirit of God. They also visited the woman whose house burned down. Some of the village men are helping with the labor of rebuilding it. The team was also shown a new piece of property that has become available for the church. At some point the church would also be used for a school. It has mango and coconut trees on part of the property and is available for a very reasonable price.
This evening the team went to our church in Marotte, for a celebration. Nathan led worship and Mike taught. The church had a potluck, which is unusual for Haiti. They also had a men's group sing and a women's group sing. Mike said he shared the same message in the evening as he shared in the morning in Pass Rein. But the response was so different. The atmosphere seamed very heavy. The team felt like there was a lot of spiritual warfare going on. So the team and the church leaders got together and prayed and something in the spiritual realm broke. At one point Mike felt like he received a word from God for the leaders and he looked up towards the front and realized that the pastor and his wife, the youth pastor and his wife and all of the leaders were in one area. He with them the story about Jesus telling Peter that "on this rock I'll build my church, and that He would pour out His Spirit on them." The leadership of the church was like Peter "the rock" and they would be the foundation of the church. Then God did pour out His spirit on them. The team summed the day up by saying there were huge spiritual victories today. Praise God He is wonderful!
Tomorrow the team will be starting on a playground in the children's village. This is a project that has been on many hearts and will be a joy for the children's village. The team brought some of the playground parts with them. Please pray that they are able to find the rest of the parts in town tomorrow. Please also pray for the team as they spend time with the children and staff tomorrow. Thank you for your prayers.
Blessings,
Chris

Our January Haiti Team

Hello again,

I am writing to let you know that the January team has left for Seattle and will be flying out tonight. Please pray for a safe and fruitful trip.  Also please pray for our family as this was moving day for Mike, he will not be coming back with the team. Today was his last day stateside for a while. I will be following him with our youngest three children in February. Our second oldest son Dustin and his wife Melissa will be moving into our home and running things stateside. You will still be able to connect with us via e-mail. The ministry phone number will reach Dustin and Melissa. So if you need anything, have questions, want to drop off donations or sponsor gifts, you will still be able too. Mike plans on making trips back to Washington to stay connected with you. He will also be back for speaking engagements and conferences periodically.  We want to thank all of you who have been praying for us as we make the transition to Haiti  full time. We really need and appreciate your prayers.

Blessings,

Chris

Hello,

I am writing to share a bit more from my heart and to thank you for your prayers for the ministry and our family. I am also writing to ask for more prayers for our family and the ministry. As we get closer to the dates of our move to Haiti in January we are experiencing what feels like heavier spiritual attack. My intent is not to list everything, but to ask for prayer covering, so I would like to share on just two areas in particular. The first is about my father. He passed away Saturday night. My daughter who is a CNA and an emergency room tech, has been caring for my father and helping my mother since the first of July. We have spent the last few months visiting and preparing, as they live a couple of hours away. My father has always been a very faithful, moral man. Some of us have tried in the past to share with him about having a personal relationship with Jesus, but he would answer vaguely. Right before Thanksgiving my daughter was able to share one more time with him and he truly gave his heart to the Lord, she was also able to tell him we loved him and understood he was at the end and that we all wanted him to know it was okay for him to go. He said thank you to her and expressed his love. My daughter also organized a huge (37 people)Thanksgiving dinner at my parents home. We suspected this would be his last. I felt like I was supposed to call hospice the next week. He was officially put on Hospice the following Friday. Then in the middle of the night last Wednesday, I woke up and felt like I was supposed to pray for both by father and my daughter, only to get the call to come as the end was near a little while later. Most of my siblings are a few hours away like I am, so one by one we arrived at my parents home. We spent the next few days all gathered with my Mother and Father at their home. My daughter, sister and I were able to take shifts round the clock in caring for him, with advise given by phone from the Hospice Nurse. All of my siblings and my mother were able to lay hands on him and pray. We read our favorite scriptures to him and played our favorite worship songs over him. Saturday night we were all able to have all of our hands on him and with tears and prayers we ushered him into the kingdom. God gave us a huge gift.

The part in which I am referring to as spiritual warfare happened while my father was dying. During this time my daughter in law-in-law, whom I love as my own, ended up in the emergency room, not being able to breathe, having sparks of light in her eyes and then loss of vision. We were going to honor her with a baby shower this weekend, which we did not hold because of the family being with my father. She is 7 months pregnant. Just minutes ago, at a cardiologist appointment she had a heart monitor put on her, to monitor her heart for the next 48 hours. This event and others like it, are why we are asking for and so greatly appreciate your support through prayer. As Mike has shared in the past, your prayers are a lifeline for us and we are so very thankful for them.

Blessings,

Chris

Prayer Partners: Christmas is truly in the air and we at New Generation Ministries are praying that you are having a blessed time. Can you imagine first coming to salvation in the name of Jesus? Remember that amazing feeling. You felt so new, so alive, so wanting to know what to do next. You immersed yourself into your Bible. But what if you didn't have a Bible? What if there was no Bible book store? What if the small amount of money you had, was needed to buy food instead of a Bible, even with your new hunger to want to read the bible? We have hundreds of families that are new Christians that desperately need a Bible. We have a great Christmas gift idea. We have found a resource for good quality Haitian Creole Bibles for just $10 each, these are not the thin evangelistic bibles, but good quality complete bibles. We would also like to suggest giving a healthy young goat. You can buy a Haitian family a goat for $35. Goats can be a positive change for a Haitian family. Please consider the purchase of Bibles or Goats for our Haitian brothers and sisters for Christmas this year.............Mike
We also have some exciting news. Our new website has been completed. Please check it out. It has new information and pictures to keep you up dated with what is happening in Haiti. One of the new features many of you have been asking for, is the ability to pay by credit card, debit card, or electronic checks (automatic bank drafts) and the ability to choose both one time donations or recurring donations. Of course we still have the pay pal option for those who prefer pay pal. The new options are available on our new donation page. There is even a space for special instructions, so you can specify what you would prefer your donation go to, for example orphan sponsorship or the medical clinic. We have had a few friends try it out and they say it is easy and very user friendly. Just go to www.newgenerationhaiti.org and follow the simple instructions. Hope this makes donating easier for each of you. Thank you so very much for coming alongside of this ministry with your involvement, prayers and support. Please have a blessed Holiday Season................Mike

Wow, Praise His name from on High !!! God is really on the move in Haiti. This is like a piece of history in the making. We are so excited, and amazed, and humbled at the outpouring of the Spirit of God right now in Pass Rien. The first Sunday morning in the new tent we saw 30 salvation's. That very same evening we saw 35 more lost and hurting people come to the revelation that salvation in the name of Jesus Christ was the answer to their problems. We have seen several salvation's and healing every day since then. And this is not just in Pass Rien. In Perou, and Marotte we have seen 5 or 6 salvation's each Sunday for several weeks now. This is so amazing to really see God redeeming his loved ones into His Kingdom. These people will now live for eternity with Him in Glory. "No more pain, no more tears."
This is a direct result of the mercy of God and the consistent prayers of his people. Some of you Prayer Partners have been so diligent and faithful about praying for the Spirit of God to break the chains that have held these people in small villages like Pass Rien for generations. Where which doctors and Voodoo camps have cursed and intimidated and carried out the work of satan to destroy people. Where men, marriages and families have been lost, hurting, blind and in prison to the poverty and oppression of the devil. God is breaking, and smashing and overturning the tables of these evil spirits to set His people free. "To bring sight to the blind, healing, freedom and to declare the favor of the Lord."........Amen
Pastor Nathan and Pastor Bruno are hosting an "all night prayer and worship meeting" at Pass Rien tonight. Please continue to pray for this move of God to rescue the ones He loves in Haiti.
With all these new believers we are incurring a few wonderful problems. We need Bibles. There is only a few Bibles among hundreds of new salvation's, and we need benches for the people to sit on, thus far they can only stand as they gather. If this is something that you feel God would have you help us with, we would appreciate it so very much. Thank you again for your prayers for this ministry.............Mike

Hello,

A quick update full praise! Thank you so much for your prayers. This morning in Pass Rien, Nathan said there were 30 salvation's!!!! Nathan preached again this evening and there were 35 more salvation's!!!!! God is so good, 65 more people will enter his courts with praise. One of the men that gave their hearts to the Lord today was a witch doctor.  The Spirit of God is definitely moving and drawing hearts in Pass Rien. We can not praise God enough for all He is doing. God is so awesome. Please keep praying for Pass Rein and the Haitian people.

Many Blessings,

Chris

Hello,

I wanted to send out a quick note to ask for prayers in regards to Pass Rien. If you remember in one of the last e-mails, I shared how both Nathan and Mike felt like something broke in the spiritual realm in Pass Rien. I shared how the blind man who was healed offered his house as an indoor place to meet for church. This would have most likely been a hut. Nathan told us today, that the people in the village of Pass Rien have become so excited about God that they couldn't wait until Sunday to go to church. They asked pastor Nathan to come teach them tonight. So he went to Pass Rien to teach and 5 more people gave their hearts to God tonight. He also said that other people came forward and offered their property for church. We have one more large military style tent that we have been waiting to set up. We did not have any property in Pass Rien available to set it up on. The witch doctor had the only available piece of property. So now there are other offers and most likely it will finally be set up. Please join us in praying for the people in Pass Rien, that the Spirit of God will keep moving and more will come to know God. Also please keep praying for the Madame (witch doctor) to soften her heart for God. She has not been in Pass Rien the last few times a team or Mike and Nathan have visited. We do not know if she is gone for just awhile or if God has given her chances and finally removed her from the area.  She has been quite intimidating to the other villagers in the past. Please especially pray this Sunday morning. Ephesians 6:12 says "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Thank you so very much for your prayers.

Blessings,

Chris

Hello,
I talked with Mike today. Both he and Nathan went back up to Pass Rein yesterday. The Madame(witch doctor) usually gets a chair and sits down in the middle of things and stares. She can be intimidating. But she was not there Thursday when the team was there. And she was not there this time. Both Mike and Nathan felt like much of the tension from the past was gone and that a stronghold was broken. The Madame still lives in Pass Rein, but they both felt like God has moved her out of the way, and that something was broke in the spiritual realm. Please keep praying for Pass Rein and for the Madame. Also please pray for the man who's eyes were healed, he has opened his home up for the church to meet in. Yesterday evening there were 2 more salvation's at the crusade, one of the Haitian pastors gave the message.
This morning Mike preached in Poteau. He spoke on repentance, understanding sin and what Jesus did for us. There were 2 salvation's and at the end of the service most of the church was on their knees repenting. God really moved and touched hearts. Thank you for your continued prayers.
Tonight Mike is staying with Nathan and his wife and family. They will go to Port-au-Prince early in the morning, as Mike will be flying out. Please pray for safe travel.
Blessings,
Chris

The November team
Pastors from South Carolina
